Get up close and personal with our beloved dairy cows! Join us on the third Thursday of every month at 2:30pm, starting Thursday, February 20, for a hands-on cow grooming session in the milking barn.

While cows naturally groom themselves and each other, winter conditions mean they need a little extra care. With less time on pasture, they tend to get dirtier, so we lend a hand (and a brush!) to keep them clean and comfortable. Grooming helps remove dirt and debris, improves circulation, and enhances their well-being—resulting in shinier coats and even healthier milk production.

And the benefits aren’t just for the cows! The warmth of their bodies and the rhythmic motion of brushing can have a calming effect on us, too—lowering heart rates and releasing oxytocin, the “bonding hormone.”

Come experience the magic of cow grooming and enjoy a moment of connection with these gentle animals. We can’t wait to see you in the barn! This activity is free, but donations to the farm are welcomed.

RSVP is required by noon the day before. This activity is open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Please complete the registration form below and the volunteer waiver here. You will not be able to participate if the waiver is not completed.
