Three Kings Preparation
All community members are welcome to participate in our annual Three Kings Preparation. Stirring begins at 12:30 pm in the CSA room, and the spray is at around 2:00pm. Come prepared with winter hiking clothing.
Background on the spray, courtesy of the Josephine Porter Institute: Following the nuclear bombings of 1945, Hugo Erbe, a German biodynamic farmer, observed a massive disruption and flight of beneficial elemental beings from his farmland. In order to help heal the damage done to the earth’s organism, and bring back equilibrium, he developed this preparation made from the gifts of the wise man: Gold, symbol for world wisdom, Frankincense, devotional offering to the Gods, and Myrrh, the symbol for the victory of life over death.
We spread this fragrant offering to the elemental world on Three Kings Day (January 6) along the boundary of our fields, and the more hands (and feet!), the more of our boundaries we can spread.
